Though invented in 1891, an Olympic sport in London in 1908 and widely played to this day in Europe, North America and Asia, Bike Polo is a new and relatively unknown sport in The Netherlands. With close to 20 million bikes (more than one per inhabitant!) in our little country and every child riding from the moment they can walk, our aim is to bring this extreme sport of speed, skill, balance and above all fun to the Dutch participants and audience it deserves.

Our preliminary goal is to organize the first Dutch Open Bike Polo Championship on Grass in Amsterdam in June 2009, as well as look into the possibilities of setting up a Dutch Bike Polo Federation within the International Bicycle Polo Federation with local chapters in the major Dutch cities and regular competitions.
